Abstract

Shallow well seismic survey, including vertical seismic profiling and crosswell seismic, is highly demanded during construction site investigations. The use of P-waves and S-waves is necessary for determination of the mechanical properties of the soil. Observations can be carried out using several technologies: receiving signal by hydrophones or geophones in boreholes and exciting waves by hammer on the surface; using sparker or airgun for exciting waves in boreholes. Casing and cementation of shallow boreholes don’t fit often for seismic survey. Authors demonstrate on field examples, that by the combination some of these technologies good quality data can be acquired despite casing and cementation problems.
