Abstract

Depth sections generated from multi-frequency helicopter electromagnetic (HEM) data have<br>become an important aspect of airborne surveys. Traditionally such depth sections are created by<br>an imaging approach, based on simplified physics or empirical relations (Macnae and<br>Lamontagne, 1987; Macnae et al., 1991; Sengpiel, 1988; Huang and Fraser, 1996; Bostick, 1977;<br>Nekut, 1987; Jones 1983 etc.). As computers become ever faster and cheaper, we are gradually<br>entering an era where inversion of HEM data in daily production is economically feasible.
