This paper provides a summary of shear wave velocity data obtained from Texas and Louisiana Gulf<br>Coast soils using both crosshole test (CHT) and seismic cone penetration test (SCPT) methods. Both<br>methods are described and a side-by-side comparison of the results from several sites where both<br>methods were used is presented. The data collected were evaluated based on both soil type and geologic<br>formation. Best-fit equations are listed for each material type relating shear wave velocity to various<br>parameters.
