Abstract

Ground and aerial magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical methods were used to
investigate ordnance disposal sites at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver, Colorado,
as part of a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study. These nonintrusive methods
successfully delineated ordnance disposal sites enabling estimates of potentially
contaminated volumes of soil. The aerial survey results suggested that large areas could
be eliminated from further investigation. These techniques were cost-effective in
comparison with conventional investigative approaches.
