Abstract

It has been proposed sometime ago that in<br>the Triunfo syenite pluton, Transversal Zone of the<br>Borborema Province (state of Pernambuco and<br>Paraíba), a liquid immiscibility process was a<br>Important petrogenetic process leading to the<br>formation of the coexisting pyroxenites and syenites.<br>According to the hypothesis, the denser of the two<br>magmas (pyroxenite) would have been set in the base<br>of the magmatic chamber, while the less dense one<br>(syenite) in the upper part of the chamber.<br>The anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility<br>(AMS) and micro-structures available in the literature<br>sugge st a laccolith structure with magma flowing<br>horizontally into a crustal cavity.
