The prestack migration tecnique in the plane<br>wave domain is based on the solution of acoustic<br>wave equation. Initially the shots gathers are<br>transformed to tau-p domain and sorted on common<br>offset ray parameter sections. After that, these<br>sections are transformed to frequency–source<br>wavenumber domain (w – ks) by the Fourier<br>transform in order to apply the prestack migration<br>operator. The image is obtained when all common<br>offset ray parameter migrated sections are summed.<br>This prestack migration method can be also used on<br>lateral velocity medium as long as a split-step phase<br>correction is applied. It was tested on synthetic data<br>and we obtained reasonable results even on the SEG/EAGE salt model.
