Abstract

Recently there has been considerable discussion in geophysical journals regarding the optimum waveforms for airborne electromagnetic (AEM) systems. The approaches taken have varied from data processing, to theoretical modeling, to hardware modifications. This paper uses real data from the SPECTREM system to compare different waveforms. SPECTREM is a full-duty time domain AEM system which has operated successfully since 1989. The data used in the paper actually led to the discovery of the Konuto mine in the Canadian Shield.
