Abstract
Klimentos and McCann (1988) have shown experimentally that clays increase the attenuation of seismic waves in porous rocks (see figure 1). They demonstrated that the attenuation of compressional. waves is directly proportional. to day content and inversely proportional to permeability (see Figure 2).
