Three Component Magnetic And Magnetic Susceptibility Logging

A three component downhole magnetometer produced by IFG Corporation is discussed in this paper. The borehole magnetometer provides magnetic data and with the addition of accurate tilt meters. produces accurate downhole borehole coordinates. Offhole magnetic anomalies con be modelled na well as very small variations in the magnetic properties of the rock. By providing the sonde with additional electrical logging and magnetic susceptibility capabilities, it becomes a powerful and practical exploration tool.
