Geophysical Exploration For Archean Lode Gold Deposit In The Sheba Hills Area - Barberton Mountain Land

Abstract
Gold has been mined in the Barberton Mountain Land for over a century. In 1885, Edwin Bray made his fantastic discovery of the Sheba Reef at the Golden Quarry resulting in the famous<br>gold rush and the development of the Barberton gold district. To date, approximately 260 000 kg of gold have been produced from 275 gold workings. The Sheba area has been by far the largest producer of gold within the mountain land and exploration on and around the Sheba Mine has been conducted in varying degrees by at Ieast twenty companies.
