Abstract

In seismic interpretation a reflection is generally characterized by its arrival time and its reflection strength i.e amplitude. In terms of its wave component it can be represented by three important variables namely amplitude, phase and frequency. All other attributes are simply linear combination of these three. Each of these variables represents different attributes of the waveform and in geological terms brings out different aspects of the geologic feature.
