ELECTRICAL ELECTROMAGNETICS & GPR O10 - 02 HYBRID GENETIC ALGORITHMS DERIVED FROM THE EVOLUTION THEORIES Introduction Ahmet T. Basokur Irfan Akca Ankara University Turkey The derivative based inversion methods find considerable amount of applications in geophysical problems but they suffer from converging to nearest local minimum in the neighbourhood of initial guess. On the other hand the genetic algorithm that simulates biological processes could explore a wider region of parameter space.
