Abstract

In this paper we propose a workflow to calculate the propose a workflow to calculate the quality factor Q and an inverse filter Q. The motivation for this work is due to the importance of the quality factor Q and its inverse (1 / Q - attenuation factor) in identifying the presence of fluid in the pores, the degree of saturation, porosity and permeability of the reservoir. It also is used as a filter to improve seismic resolution image, and analysis of the amplitude. Through numerical modeling, we analyze the results obtained considering a reservoir saturated with water, oil and gas, and tested the efficiency of a computer program developed for this purpose. These results show the different values of quality factor Q and the restoration of amplitude and frequency in two synthetic traces.
