Abstract

The anisotropy in seismic data has been observed in several areas of exploration. Normally, the conventional methods of migration are insufficient in this areas. Many works introduce equations with acoustic approximation for VTI and TTI media, due to the need for ever better seismic imaging of subsurface, both for scientific purposes and for the hydrocarbons industry. We propose a new P wave equation for TTI media, starting from the exact equation in function of phase velocity of Tsvankin (1996), which is a fourth order diferential equation, reducing this to a diferential equation of second order in time, thus facilitating its computational implementation, and separating the waves P to the SV.
