Abstract

Most reservoirs are thin in the vertical dimension, and even those that are not thin out to zero thickness at the edges. Current efforts to increase the resolving power of the seismic method suggest us to examine closely the fundamental concepts of resolvability through of the seismic physical modeling. This paper deals with vertical resolution of seismic reflection data using sinthetic wedge model considering the conventional limits of the Widess Model, which assumes a pair of exactly equal and opposite reflection coefficients. In this specific case the experiments were directed to show some results obtained through seismic physical modeling in a range of frequency to identify individual reflections from the top and bottom of a thin bed.
