Abstract

The Abonari granitc batholith is placed in the northest part of Amazonas State, belonging to the Mapuera suite, Guianas Shield, Amazon Craton. Trough the integration of geological and geophysical data it was possible not only define the batholith itself and the surrounding rocks, but the inner litho-geophysical heterogeneities, where the gamaspectrometric domains 1, 2 and 3, are the geophysical responses of the microgranitic, sieno-monzogranitic and alkali-feldspar granitic petrographic facies, respectively. These results indicate the use of gamaspectrometry as a valuable tool to facilitate the mapping and determination of petrographic faciology of granitic bodies.
