Abstract

This summary presents the results of GPR 2D forward modeling performed for areas of underwater sediments, mainly the gravel deposits. The results of GPR modeling obtained with antennas 400 and 200 MHz show that the reflectors related to deposits of gravel are very similar to reflectors from the interface of sand and sandstone. The models do not allow the distinction between the reflectors related to the layers of gravel and clay based only on the electrical impedance of the layers. The main difference between the layers of sand and gravel is the reflection pattern distinct, since the layers of gravel show many diffractions caused by pebbles and clasts of different rocks.
