Abstract

The project area is situated in the central part of Brazil, on the northeast region of Goiás State. The phosphatic rocks occur in the Bambuí Group, on the east part of Faixa de Dobramentos Brasília (FDB), on the western border of the São Francisco Craton. The mineralized rocks in the study area are associated with limestone and apatite. In order to discover new prospective targets of sedimentary phosphatic bodies, a faster and more objective airborne geophysics data processing method was used together with statistical correlation of geochemical data. The integration of these data provided potential targets of mineralization that will be checked with geological mapping and ground geophysics (gamma-ray spectrometry) to produce a parameter of calibration and comparison to the airborne geophysical information. Integration of geological information and estimated maps of U and P show that igneous rocks and lateritic crust presents the higher content of uranium and phosphorous elements, as expected. However, small anomalies were identified in sediments of Serra de Santa Helena and Sete Lagoas formations where the known phosphatic bodies occur in the study area. The next step should be field work to check these anomalies. Profiles of geological mapping and ground gamma-ray will be carried out.
