Abstract

An integrated study was performed in the tight gas producing reservoirs of the Los Molles Formation (Lower Jurassic) in the El Salitral Field, Agua del CajOn Block, located within the north flank of the Neuquen Ridge. The reservoir characterization performed<br>included a sedimentological and petrophysical analys s of the core samples, formation evaluation and electrofacies classification from open ho es, and a thorough seismic stratigraphy description of the 3D cube. Seism c attributes were also included at this stage of the study. Subsequently, a modeling of the sedimentary facies based on electrofacies and porosity was carried out using sequentia indicator simu ation and sequential Gaussian simulation respectively. The most probable tridimensiona faces model and the area with best petrophysical characteristics were i lustrated from the reservoirs. Finally, as a result of the study, it can be concluded that through data integration was possible to predict the aerial distribution of facies including the ones that are considered as hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs.
