Abstract
Central Luconia is a geological province extending over an area of some 40.000km2 offshore Sarawak, NW Borneo (Fig. 1). More than 200 Miocene-Recent carbonate build-ups are found in this province, many of which contain commercial hydrocarbons. Pore-pressure regimes within the carbonate reservoirs range from hydrostatic to lithostatic, and as such have a strong bearing on hydrocarbon prospectivity as well as on safety and performance of drilling operations.
