Use of Seismic Stacking Velocities as an External Drift in the Estimation of the Velocity Field for Time-Depth Conversion

Kriging with an external drift of seismic velocities was used for time-depth conversion with satisfactory results. Direct time-depth external drift estimation and correction factor grids for seismic velocities estimated with minimum curvature showed significant problems, specially for reservoir development purposes.
