Abstract

To detect buried bodies using a GPR device it is important to know the undisturbed electric field in the receiver antenna at the surface. The simplest model for the undisturbed case is a horizontal antenna, located in air above a homogeneous half-space. In the following, we present the application of a mathematical formalism, according to Goldman (1990), to calculate the induced electric field component in the frequency domain. The calculation is done numerically and the results are compared with obtainable analytical expressions.
