Abstract
E034 MULTICOMPONENT SEISMIC DATA ACQUISITION … THE ECONOMICS REVISITED J. GIBSON and *H.J. WATT Veritas DGC Land 10300 Town Park Drive. Houston Texas USA 77072 Summary Over the past several years significant advances have been made in the acquisition processing and analysis/interpretation of converted-wave (PS) multicomponent seismic data resulting in renewed enthusiasm for the use of this technology. Case histories appearing more regularly in industry literature help to demonstrate value from the joint use of compressional-wave (PP) and PS data. (Increased) value can be somewhat difficult to quantify but loosely refers to gaining useful information at a justifiable cost. Increases
