Abstract
F022 VELOCITY ANALYSIS OF GROUND PENETRATING RADAR DATA WITH A MODEL- BASED TRAVELTIME APPROXIMATION Summary 1 A non-hyperbolic model-based traveltime equation is applied to automatic dense velocity analysis of ground penetrating radar (GPR) data and compared to conventional (sparse) hyperbolic velocity analysis. I obtain a more accurate and realistic velocity model and a stacked section with higher resolution at shallow depths. Introduction Velocity analysis is usually performed by finding for each value of zero-offset traveltime t 0 the value of stacking velocity V st that best flattens the seismic reflections in the data (equation (1)). 1 t ( x) ≈
