Abstract

F023 APPLICATION OF CROSSHOLE RESISTIVITY ANISOTROPY TOMOGRAPHY TO THE SAFETY ANALYSIS OF A HIGH STORIED BUILDING OVER AN ABANDONED OLD MINE Abstract 3 Resistivity tomography was performed to image the subsurface structure and the cavities over 20 tomographic sections and to provide the underground model for the safety analysis of a 25 storied apartment building constructed at an abandoned old mine. Since the basement rock reveals the strong anisotropy of resistivity the anisotropic tomography inversion code was developed and applied to reconstruct subsurface images. Owing to the anisotropic characteristics of basement rock we could image and locate cavities more precisely.
