Abstract
G039 INTERBED MULTIPLE RECOGNITION & SUPPRESSION: SHAYBAH FIELD SAUDI ARABIA Summary Interbed multiples interfere with 3D-seismic primary reflections in the Shu’aiba Reservoir at Shaybah Field Saudi Arabia. They are best recognized using VSP data analysis to interpret their expected appearance on the 3D-seismic data at well locations. Interbed multiples also have been predicted using mapped horizon computations. The application of multiple elimination technology to attempt removal of interbed multiples in the 3D-seismic dataset has resulted in a better contribution of the geophysical interpretation to Shu’aiba reservoir characterization at Shaybah Field.
