VibroPile – A Marine Shear Wave Source – Results from Onshore Field Test

H017 VIBROPILE – A MARINE SHEAR WAVE SOURCE. RESULTS FROM ONSHORE FIELD TEST EGIL TJÅLAND 1 JOHN IVAR HAUGLAND 1 JON TORE LIENG 2 Summary Herein is described the development of a new marine S-wave source based on vibroseis technology i.e. – VibroPile. The source can be used in soft sediments where conventional shear wave sources have problems. FEM and FD were applied to model the seismic wave field demonstrating how the source will operate under different earth models. The paper presents results from an onshore field test of the full size operation version of the shear wave source. Introduction
