H045 CORRUPTION AND LOSS: PITFALLS IN SEISMIC DATA MANAGEMENT Abstract Introduction 1 Traditionally any paper on data management will contain at least one diagram showing boxes with connecting arrows indicating data flow. But just how confident should we be of these connecting arrows? How often do we examine the actual data to ensure that they are still intact? Data archiving and management has increasingly been an outsourced activity over the last 10- 12 years. As a result many operations on the data such as transcription take place two levels of subcontracting below the data owner. At this level a combination
