Abstract
P062 A TRAVELTIME TOMOGRAPHY DEDICATED TO THE INVERSION OF PRISMATIC REFLECTIONS M. CAVALCA P. LAILLY Institut Français du Pétrole 1 et 4 avenue de Bois-Preau 92852 Rueil-Malmaison France 1 Abstract Prismatic reflections (double reflections whose impact points are on the two faces of a dihedral structure) contain precious information on the geometry of steep geologic events such as faults or salt flanks as well as on the velocity distribution around these structures. In this article we use prestack reflection traveltime tomography to extract this information. Prismatic reflection traveltimes may be picked without great difficulty but their tomographic inversion is far
