Abstract
P081 SHEAR-WAVE VIBRATOR APPLICATIONS FOR SHALLOW SEISMIC INVESTIGATIONS – SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS 1 U. POLOM S. GRÜNEBERG W. Hammer-blow sources show quite often poor resolution and wavelet quality especially when used for VSP and reflection seismic applications. Furthermore common vertical stacking technique does not work in the same manner and reduces the S/N ratio after some blows due to continuous damage of elastic properties in the near source environment.
