P198 ACQUISITION 3D DESIGN AND GEOLOGY IN THE MAHAKAM DELTA KUTEI BASIN INDONESIA Abstract 1 Many geoscientists believe that designing the parameters of a 3D seismic acquisition has little to do with subsurface geology and consists in manipulating physics. We review selected parts of existing 3D designs over gas fields located in the Mahakam delta where a detailed knowledge of their geology has been a stumbling block to evaluate the pertinence of a 3D survey and to the design of corresponding seismic acquisition parameters. These case studies required multi-disciplinary integration of geoscience expertise. Introduction B.MOULY 1 G.NESEN 1 L.M.MOINIER 2
