Abstract

P212 VELOCITY MODEL BUILDING IN A SEISMOGENIC AREA: COMPARISON AMONG MODELS DERIVED FROM REFLECTION SEISMIC GEOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION AND EARTHQUAKE SEISMOLOGY Abstract 1 We present a case study in which traveltime tomography and stacking velocity analysis are applied to 2D crooked seismic reflection profiles acquired in a seismically active area in Central Italy in order to reconstruct the subsurface P-wave velocity field down to depth where earthquakes are located. The final seismic velocity model is compared to a geologybased model and to a passive tomography-based model along the seismic reflection line. They manifest noticeable differences and thus if used for depth
