Abstract
Ground penetrating-radar (GPR) has been used as a pedologic tool in the United States since the early 1980's. The USDA-Soil Conservation Service routinely uses GPR to update soil surveys in Florida. GPR has also been used for many soil investigations particularly to determine the depth of diagnostic subsurface features that are important in separating soils.
