Abstract

Traditional GPR applications have been based on the use of ground-coupled antennas and on manual interpretation of graphical data. This approach is very limiting for highway surveys since much larger areas must be covered at lower unit costs. Therefore, recent radar developments for highways have involved the use of high-resolution air-coupled horn antennas, operations at highway speed, and automated data interpretation software for computing pavement properties.
