Abstract

AECL Research is assessing plutonic rock for its suitability as a host medium for the disposal of nuelear fuel waste (Dormuth and Nuttall, 1987). One aspect of this research involves identifying and characterizing fracture zones within the rock mass using nondestructive geophysical techniques, ineluding surface and borehole radar reflection surveys.
