Abstract

This paper describes the design and results of a survey made to obtain high resolution seismic data in Marlim and AIbacora fields, continental slope of Campos basin, Brazil. The purpose of the survey was to keep the benefits of conventional digital marine seismic data acquisition and replace some field parameters to improve resolution in the upper part of the section. Processing techniques which are important to enhanced resolution such as deconvolution and migration have been applied to the data. Comparisons with high resolution analog data showed good quality and a significant improvement of lateral and vertical resolution obtained by using these procedures. Consequently, a wealth of knowledge concerning the stratigraphic and structural setting of the area was gained.
