Abstract
In this work I summarize the theoretical basis of the generalized inversion program that I developed to invert gravity data for structural geologic models. Two transects of the Amazon Continental Margin are modelled through the use of a hybrid scheme of inversion. In this scheme, densities within sedimentary ,bodies (with boundaries well constrained by seismic experiments) are determined by linear inversion, and deaths to Moho (poorly constrained by few refraction data) are estimated by non-linear inversion.
