Abstract

On the basis of three-component acquisition on 2D lines, it has been demonstrated that converted PS waves make it possible to control shear wave splitting in at least two respects: - Definition of the azimuthal anisotropy attributes, and Compensation of the shear wave splitting effect, thus improving the accuracy of seismic attributes derived from P and S mode comparison, such as Poisson's ratio etc.
