STRATISEISMIC APPROACH OF EVAPORITIC SERIES BY WELL LOGGING AND HIGH RESOLUTION SEISMIC

Because reflection is caused by density velocity contrasts, a joint study of well logging and seismic data improves understanding of evaporitic deposits: 3 major types of series with the resulting seismic images can be defined. This study is of particular value in mining prospecting, in order. to make a pre-evaluation of interpretation acccuracy, to improve evaluation of resources and to resolve any difficulties· encountered during mining operations. A sonic density cross-plot is performed, to provide conclusions on the types of sedilmentary deposits. Iso-impedance curves displayed on the same diagram make a transition with the seismic image, with evidence of the degree of visibility of the target and-its environment.
