GLOBAL ALFVEN WAVES IN SOLAR PHYSICS

We have also shown that the Discreet Alfven wave can explain the natural oscilations ( and variations) of prominences and coronal loops just considering an existence of a poloidal component of the equilibrium magnetic field. It also means consider a toroidal current going from one to the other side of the prominence or coronal loop. We have modeled the coronal loop and the prominence as a long semitoroidal plasma (L »d) where L and D are the well known major and minor plasma radii, respectively.
