Abstract

The methods of nonlinear dynamics are applied to the study of geomagnetic disturbances. The correlation dimension of the strange attractor of the underlying dynamical system is considered as a characteristic of chaotic behavior of variations of geomagnetic field (UGF) and time evolution of the correlation dimension is studied on the basis of UGF measured by observatories of auroral zone.
