Abstract

The paper investigates the properties of a novel wideband air-launched antenna array for high speed road inspection, archaeology and utility mapping. High speed 3-dimensional GPR surveys for road inspection require antenna arrays with very wide bandwidth and narrow impulse response. For pavement inspection, the traditional approach has been to use separate horn antennas for transmitting and receiving to obtain sufficient isolation between the transmitter and receiver.
