Abstract
A refugee camp was established by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the town of Bahn, Nimba County, Liberia in response to the political instability and the subsequent refugee influx from neighboring Ivory Coast in December 2011. Unsatisfactory well yields from two wells sited by local government officials resulted in the need for costly water trucking and treatment to initially provide the camp with potable water.
