Abstract
Many undiscovered mineral deposits in the U.S. and elsewhere are concealed by basin fill, glacial sediments, or bedrock. Understanding how to best use geophysical data to help define concealed terranes is critical to being able to assess and discover concealed mineral deposits. Work in the U.S. Geological Survey’s Assessment Techniques for Concealed Mineral Resources project has developed several methodologies for using both airborne and ground-based Earth’s total field magnetic data for such tasks.
