Abstract

The search for unconventional reservoirs and the beginning of their expensive development requires changes in the conventional exploration philosophy and in the tools used. The fast tract exploration of sweetspots may help to increase return in a development project’s high initial yields if its systematic detection is improved. The use of unconventional exploration methods, together with other more traditional methods used that resulted in a sweetspot detection is shown in the case studied. These methods are more effective when combined with more traditional ones to add value to the structures, thus forming an integrated set that increases the chances in a particular prospect and the economic feasibility of a development project.
