Abstract
The Llanos Basin covers more than 200,000 km2 in the eastern side of Colombia and contains some of the biggest Colombian oil fields such as Cańo Limon and Cusiana-Cupiagua. With remaining resources in place probably exceeding 10,000 MBOE (including Rubiales) and 10 TCF the Llanos basin is very attractive for Exploration. The aim of the SANBAS consortium is to focus on new play concepts to identify new resources, through an integrated approach combining integration of existing studies, seismic interpretation of key lines, new petrophysical and geochemical analyses and integrated 2D/3D petroleum system modeling.
