Abstract
The Gold deposit of Rosia Montana, located in the Romanian "Golden Quadrilateral" has been mined since Roman times. In 2006 the Romanian government, who owned the deposit, closed down the operations because production was no longer economic. In 1999 Gabriel resources obtained the concession and is now planning to open a new mine with a reserve of 10 million ounces of Gold and 47 million ounces of Silver.
