Abstract

The high well counts of the unconventional gas business of SCEPCo in China require a more efficient approach to sharing data than in a typical Exploration & Production (E&P) business. High volume well delivery requires standard, repeatable processes where inputs to each task in the process arrive in a timely, reliable manner. In addition to materials and services, the process inputs include information. Time wasted finding and cleaning data created by different functions can be a much bigger barrier to profitability in a high well count/ low margin business, than in a conventional E&P business.
