Abstract
Interpretation study of 3D seismic research of oil-filled shoestring sandstone bodies we
present in this paper (south-east margin of Russian Plate). High-flow-rate wells in the “C0-
channel” (C1al) and “CII+CIII-channel” (C2tl) have been known for more than twenty years.
Volume interpretation of shoestring sandstone bodies using seismic attributes (especially
instantaneous frequency) effectively detected all exploration objects. “C0-channel” has more
acoustic emphasis (sandstone-in-carbonate) in the seismic cube than “CII+CIII-channel”
(sandstone-in-siltstone). Two oil wells confirm our interpretation approach.
