Some Results of Regional Magnetotelluric Explorations

The results of magnetotelluric (MT) explorations, applied to study the geoelectric structure of<br>the sedimentary cover and the Earth’s crust along regional profiles, are presented. More than<br>2000 MT soundings were fulfilled within the last few years using modern technologies of data<br>acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation. The profiles considered are situated in<br>various tectonic provinces: Russian plate and zones of its conjunction with Baltic shield and<br>Skythian plate, North-Caucasian marginal depression, folded regions of Northern Caucasus,<br>Southern Urals and North-East of Russia. New information about the deep (until tens of<br>kilometers) structure of these areas was obtained.
